On Wednesday 12th March at 7.30pm a one year on Charity ‘Cut Throat Challenge’ night will be taking place at the Wych Elm Pub in Burntwood!
Last year a total of 18 competitors took on the challenge of completing the hotter than hot ‘Cut Throat Curry’ dish (with no drinks allowed once attempt started), but only 7 managed to complete the whole dish. Last years winner, Lyndon Woodward, who completed the dish in a quite frankly ridiculous 49 seconds will be back to defend his title. If you want to take part please get in touch!! All we request is that you raise a minimum of just £20 sponsorship. All participants will receive medals for taking part and last year some of the faces and reactions we saw from competitors were just priceless. Are you feeling brave enough??
During the night there will also be a Jaffa Cake Challenge to see who can eat the most Jaffa Cakes in 60 seconds. Last year’s winner managed 14 in just 60 seconds! On the night Lee Woodward (brother of Lyndon) is also attempting a sponsored man vs food super size monster burger challenge attempt (consisting of trying to eat over 72oz of meat content amongst added extras).
For those not interested in taking part in the challenges you’re more than welcome to come show your support and enjoy the pub’s normal services- you can order whatever you like off the standard menu or at special offer enjoy a normal curry and drink for just £5.40.
All money raised from the challenges will be going straight to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Last year the event raised a massive £1380 and was a truly superb night, so if you’re local make sure you stick the date in the diary and come along!
